2020 Annual Council Meeting

About the CAPA Annual Council Meeting

Due to the COVID-19 Travel restrictions, the 2020 Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations (CAPA) Annual Council Meeting (ACM) will be held on the 5-6th of December 2020 online via Zoom. As with all ACMs we will continue the tradition to bring postgraduate associations from universities around Australia together.

The CAPA Annual Council Meeting includes the elections for the 2021 office bearer team. We are proud to announce that former officebearer Mick Fox will be the Returning Officer for this election. We will also be using this opportunity to plan next year’s campaigns and advocacy.

There will be a conference-style forum for postgraduate student representatives to increase their capacity and learn from one another. We are organising a range of external speakers, discussion panels, and skill-sharing sessions from affiliates.

In addition to this, we are pleased to open nominations for the fourth annual CAPA Awards, which celebrate outstanding work by postgraduate associations. The nomination form may be downloaded here. You can nominate on behalf of your own student organisation, or you can nominate another postgraduate student organisation that you feel is deserving of recognition. The deadline for submitting nominations will be 1st of December 5:30pm AEST.

The meeting will run from 10:00am until 4pm (AEST) each day.
