Job posting: Research and Policy Analyst (healthcare or medical practice experience preferred)
The Research and Policy Analyst contributes to policy development and research that support AMC’s core purpose. The role drafts background briefings, identifies themes in the findings of expert assessments, and undertakes specific research projects to support expert working groups and committees.
Identifying external enquiries and legislative developments which require consideration by AMC, is part of the role. The Research and Policy Analyst also scans for international developments in the medical education environment, and regarding quality assurance of medical education and training. The role reports to the Deputy CEO, consults with stakeholders, and drafts reports, briefing papers and policy documents. It provides high-level secretariat support to AMC committees and supports senior staff on major projects and in the preparation of policy papers, briefs, speeches and presentations.
Tertiary qualifications, strong research skills and proven capacity to manage small research projects are mandatory. Experience gained in healthcare or medical practice will be well regarded. Knowledge of public policy processes, and well-developed written communication skills with the ability to produce written material for a range of audiences, are also required. Effective interpersonal skills and a strong team orientation round out the requirements of the role.
