CRC Program - round 11 announcements

Successful bids 11th CRC round just announcedThe Federal Government has just announced 10 successful bids from the 11th CRC round ($243m).

There are two new CRCs and 8 have been funded to continue.
  • CRC for Aboriginal Health (Extension) $25.5 million
  • CRC for Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems (Extension) $20.1 million
  • CRC for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (Extension) $20.0 million
  • CRC for Spatial Information (Extension) $32.2 million
  • CRCMining (Extension) $12.0 million
  • Dairy Futures CRC (Extension) $28.0 million
  • Deep Exploration Technologies CRC (New) $ 28.0 million
The Deep Exploration Technologies CRC has been established to address a significant challenge to the future of the Australian minerals industry – the reduction in the mineral resources inventory due to high production and low mineral exploration success. The CRC’s research will focus on developing new technologies to explore to greater depths and under terrain cover in the vast areas of Australia that are known to be prospective
for minerals.
  • Energy Pipelines CRC (New): $17.5 million
The research provided by the Energy Pipelines CRC (EPCRC) will enable Australia to meet the increased demand for gas transportation arising from the need to decrease greenhouse gas emissions. The safe and cost  efficient maintenance and expansion of the energy pipeline infrastructure requires some major technological challenges to be addressed. Research will focus on welding research, pipeline manufacture, corrosion control and public safety.
  • Oral Health CRC (Extension) $31.6 million
  • Poultry CRC (Extension): $28.0 million
