Job posting: Equity & Diversity Consultant (Policy and Research)

An exciting secondment opportunity (part time) is available for a period of 12 months for someone who would enjoy playing a key role in assisting the University, monitor its performance in staff and student equity and in contributing to a small and dynamic team engaged in cultural change within the University.

The Equity Office is within the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), and facilitates development of strategic initiatives that assist the University to fulfil its commitment to equity and diversity for its staff and students. In particular, The Equity Office is responsible for encouraging and leading cultural change to embed equity and diversity in the policies and practices of the University. The Office consults widely across the University with organisational units and representative staff and student groups.

The Role: The successful applicant will research pertinent data and provide high quality analytical reports for internal and external purposes on the university’s performance related to staff and student equity and diversity. The role will review, develop and update policies in relevant areas and provide internal consultancy as appropriate.

The Person: Applicants should possess qualifications and significant experience in areas relevant to the role. They must have a high level of competency in utilising relevant UQ data systems and in data analysis and report writing. They should also have competence in using the Microsoft Office suite of products, in particular Word, Excel, and Access. Applicants must be able to work independently as well as positively contribute to a small and dynamic team.

Remuneration The remuneration package will be in the range $60.641.70 – $66,326.06 full time equivalent p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 9% (total package will be in the range $68,743.43 - $75,187.22 full time equivalent p.a.). This is a part-time, fixed term appointment for one year at HEW level 7.
