Postgraduate students

Postgraduate students are those enrolled in a course at postgraduate level, including any of the degree programs outlined in the table above.

Northern Territory

All postgraduate students are eligible for free travel on bus services. Those enrolled on a full-time basis are entitled to ferry concession fares.

South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory

All full-time postgraduate students are eligible for concession travel on a public transport.

New South Wales

To be eligible for concession travel, full time domestic students must sign a declaration stating they are not in receipt of remuneration. Youth Allowance, Austudy and postgraduate research scholarships (such as an APA or those of equivalent value and nature) are excluded.  Coursework postgraduates ineligible for Youth Allowance or Austudy, and research students without a scholarship, are likely to be supplementing their income through part time work, therefore many will be ineligible for concession travel on public transport.

Victoria

Postgraduate students are ineligible for concession travel on public transport in the state of Victoria.
