The CAPA Special Council Meeting (SCM) will be held on the 12th and 13th of April 2018, preceded by a pre-conference day on the 11th which will include leadership development for postgraduate student representatives. A full program and registration details will be circulated closer to the SCM. For now, please keep those dates free.
We have also opened bids to host the SCM. If your organisation wishes to host the SCM, please fill out the expression of interest form and return it to the General Secretary Dylan Styles by the 23rd of February. Meetings of Council can only occur with the generous support of our affiliates, so I hope you will consider volunteering to host this important event.
Most of our affiliates have attended our recent Council meeting in December, at which the direction for CAPA is set for the year. The 2018 committee is busy setting out a concrete path to meet the objectives set by Council, and by the time of the SCM in April, we will have made some headway on the issues which you deemed most important. The SCM is an opportunity for you to monitor the progress and adjust the direction of CAPA. It is also a chance for you to raise new issues which you believe CAPA must prioritise this year. I hope all affiliates are able to send a representative to participate in these important discussions.
