The part-time PhD - strategies for success

The part-time PhD - strategies for success

You’ve worked hard all day. You finally get home, get some food and begin to unwind. And just as you’re beginning to chill out you remember you’re supposed to be writing a thesis. Getting out of that sofa and walking the 10 metres to your study can be the longest journey of your life.

Doing a PhD is demanding.  Doing it part-time brings a whole new set of demands.  There are some essential tips you need to know that will make the journey much easier, help you to be more productive and help you to arrive alive (and sane!) at the end of the journey.

In this workshop you’ll learn:

  • How to sustain yourself for the long haul
  • How to get and maintain momentum
  • How to overcome the sense of isolation
  • How to work effectively with your supervisor
  • The advantages of being part-time
  • The next thing you need to do

And if that isn’t enough you’ll have fun too!
