The 2012 President of CAPA is Chamonix Terblanche

Chamonix Terblanche is currently a PhD candidate at Curtin University where she is developing a cutting edge artificial intelligence prototype that will identify educational and workforce development needs in Australia.
With an interdisciplinary background of information systems, business and education, Chamonix’s 13 years’ university experience offers a strong practical appreciation of the academe. This has seen Chamonix being elected as 2012 National President of the Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations (CAPA) and on the 2011 Australian Awards for University Teaching Committee as one of only two students nationally to receive this honour.
At Curtin University, Chamonix is currently an elected member of the University Council (the university’s governing body), President of the Postgraduate Student Association (CUPSA) and member of the Academic Board. Past memberships include Curtin’s Teaching and Learning Committee, Graduate Studies Committee, Research and Development Committee, Academic Services Committee and ad hoc Grievance Committees. Chamonix is also a member of the Association for Tertiary Education Management, the Australian Collaborative Education Network, the Australian Research Management Society and Golden Key International Honour Society and serves as representative for the University of Pretoria’s international alumni.
Chamonix holds a Master of Education (with specialisation in Instructional Technologies), Master of Educational Studies (with specialisation in Training and Development), Postgraduate Diploma in Tertiary Education, Graduate Certificate in Research Commercialisation, Bachelor of Commerce and Certificate IV in Workplace and Assessment Training.
