Call for expressions of interest in research
Founded in 1979, The Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations (CAPA) is the national peak body representing Australia's 270,000 postgraduate students. As the national voice on postgraduate issues, one of CAPA’s principal roles is to inform public debate, and communicate the interests and needs of postgraduate students to the Federal Government, Federal Opposition, minor parties, higher education peak bodies and the media.
High quality research on postgraduate issues forms the core of CAPA’s activities.
CAPA is currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced researchers to participate in collaborative, project based research.
CAPA will compile a register of eligible candidates who meet or exceed essential criteria. Registered candidates will then be invited to participate in specific projects as determined by CAPA’s research priorities and available funding.

Background information on the history and activities of CAPA can be found in the book 25 Years of CAPA, available at www.capa.edu.au/about.
Further background on CAPA’s research activities, including previous briefing papers, submissions and reports, is available at www.capa.edu.au/research.
Further information on potential research topics of interest to CAPA is available at www.capa.edu.au/issues.
Collaborative and contract based research supported by CAPA offers a rare opportunity to directly inform public policy in higher education, and the chance to help shape the future direction of higher eduction in Australia.
The revised closing date for the first round of expressions of interest is Friday May 9th, 2008. Subsequent rounds will be announced in July ‘08.
