Creative Industries Innovation Centre Announced

A $17 million Creative Industries Innovation Centre will provide free hands-on assistance to small and medium businesses in the creative sector to boost their productivity and realise their potential for wealth and job creation.

The national centre, hosted by the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), was launched today by Innovation Minister, Senator Kim Carr, and Arts Minister, Peter Garrett.

Highest humanities honour goes to UNSW media researcher

Associate Professor Kate Crawford has been awarded Australia’s most prestigious award for achievement and promise in the humanities.

The Max Crawford Medal is presented biennially by the Australian Academy of the Humanities to an Australian-based, early-career humanities scholar, who has contributed to the enrichment of the cultural life of Australia. The award recognises high quality academic research that contributes to a deeper understanding of an aspect of the humanities in a general audience.

Higher Education Endowment Fund (HEEF) 2009 Expressions of Interest Summaries

The Higher Education Endowment Fund will provide funding to Australian higher education institutions for capital expenditure and research facilities. From 2009, the HEEF program will become part of the Education Investment Fund (EIF) announced in the 2008-09 Budget.

2009 Endeavour Research Fellowships

Queensland Premier's Literary Awards
