Senate Inquiry into the Social Security and Other Legislations Amendment (Income Support for Students) Bill 2009

The Senate Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee is inquiring into the Social Security and Other Legislation Amendment (Income Support for Students) Bill 2009. The bill proposes to make wide-ranging changes to income support arrangements for students in response to certain recommendations of the Bradley Review of Australian Higher Education.
On 18 September 2009 the Senate referred the Social Security and Other Legislation Amendment (Income Support for Students) Bill 2009 for inquiry and report.  The committee has decided that submissions and evidence to the committee's inquiry into Rural and Regional access to Secondary and Tertiary Education Opportunities, in as far as they are relevant, will be considered as submissions and evidence to the inquiry into the Social Security and Other Legislations Amendment (Income Support for Students) Bill 2009.

Submissions should be received by 06 October 2009. The reporting date is 26 October 2009.

The Committee is seeking written submissions from interested individuals and organisations preferably in electronic form submitted online or sent by email to rrat.sen@aph.gov.au as an attached Adobe PDF or MS Word format document. The email must include full postal address and contact details.
