This includes information about access to resources (space, infrastructure, equipment), finances and development initiatives. It also includes compliance with University candidature confirmation days. Liaison with the Research Office will be an important aspect of the position to ensure an efficient and streamlined service.

Supplementary Submission to the House of Reps Inquiry into Research Training and Research Workforce Issues in Aust Universities
On 23 April 2008 the Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, Senator the Hon Kim Carr, asked the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Innovation to undertake an inquiry into research training and research workforce issues in Australian universities.
The Committee invited interested persons and organisations to make submissions addressing the terms of reference by Friday 30 May 2008.
Overseas postgraduates on the rise in Australian universities
INTERNATIONAL postgraduate research student numbers in Australia have increased more rapidly than those in other programs, suggesting the country is finding traction in the global talent wars, new research has shown.
The number of overseas research students in Australia has grown by 67per cent from 2002 to 2007, while the number of international students in higher education has increased 52per cent, an IDP conference heard last week.
