Queer Officer

Angelus Morningstar
Angelus originally became involved in student organisations and politics in 1996 as part of a series of protests against the Nuclear testing in Muroroa atoll, and has since been consistently engaged in queer community and queer politics. In the last few years Angelus has taken up a significant role of leadership in student politics, including serving as the President of the Sydney University Postgraduate Representative Association.
Angelus has completed a Masters of Jurisprudence at the University of Sydney and is currently studying the Juris Doctor (having completed a Bachelor of Arts at UNSW, with a focus on international relations and politics, and sociology of queer theory). He has ambitions to progress to doctoral research, looking to investigate the relationship between the politics of human rights, queer subjects and international relations, legal theory of human rights. He hopes to develop a better international framework for the recognition of queer minorities in the international community, sensitive of the cultural problems that tend to undermine these projects internationally.
