2019 Annual Council Meeting

About the CAPA Annual Council Meeting

The CAPA Annual Council Meeting will be held on 4 – 6 December in Melbourne at Victoria University’s City Flinders Campus, opposite Flinders Street station in the heart of Melbourne. The meeting is hosted by the Victoria University Postgraduate Association (VUPA), and brings postgraduate associations from universities around Australia together.

The CAPA Annual Council Meeting includes the elections for the 2020 office bearer team and planning next year’s campaigns and advocacy.

There will be a conference-style forum for postgraduate student representatives to increase their capacity and learn from one another. We are organising a range of external speakers, discussion panels, and skill-sharing sessions from affiliates.

The meeting will run from 9:00am until 5pm each day.

This year is the 40-year anniversary of CAPA. The highlight is the gala dinner on Thursday the 5th of December, where current affiliates as well as past CAPA committee members will be invited to celebrate our achievements at the exclusive Long Room at the Immigration Museum. The 40th anniversary gala dinner is sponsored by Monash Graduate Association, Victoria University, and the University of Melbourne Graduate Student Association.

To attend, you must register your details below. Attendees are asked to pre-pay for the cost of their catering and gala dinner ticket – details will be sent via email within one month.
