About the conference

The CAPA Annual Conference will be held on 4 – 6 December in Melbourne at Victoria University’s City Flinders Campus, opposite Flinders Street station in the heart of Melbourne. The conference is sponsored by our affiliates Monash Postgraduate Association, Victoria University Postgraduate Association, and the University of Melbourne Graduate Student Association.

The conference provides an opportunity for postgraduate student representatives to increase their capacity and learn from one another. We are organising a range of external speakers, discussion panels, and skill-sharing sessions from affiliates.

This year is the 40-year anniversary of CAPA. The highlight of the conference is the gala dinner on Thursday the 5th of December, where current affiliates as well as past CAPA committee members will be invited to celebrate our achievements at the exclusive Long Room at the Immigration Museum.

The conference includes the Annual Council Meeting, elections for the 2020 office bearer team, and planning next year’s campaigns and advocacy.

The conference will run from 9:30am until 5pm each day.
